I am not typically an overt “in your face” type of person. While I do tend to lean toward the “outgoing” side of the personality spectrum, when something is going on in my life, I like to keep it more personal. Hubby and I have been together for 13 years and married for 9 of those years. We met when I was still in high school and have been through a lot over the years. This year, we have had our ups and downs, as many couples do, but we decided it was time to recommit to love. That we need to find a way to make one another important again, so that we did not lose what brought us together through the chaos of soccer games, ballet recitals and PTO meetings. We plan to renew our wedding vows for our 10th anniversary, but I wanted a way to symbolically show our renewed faith in one another, without it being hugely obviously (I hate answering those detailed questions) and that looked great, too. When I received a Zymbol pendant necklace to review, I knew this was the way to do just that. I received a small pendant necklace in exchange for my honest opinion.
What did I think?
Several years ago, Zymbol founder, Sally Short, decided to make a pendant for herself my overlaying the letters “LOVE IS ALL U NEED” with a peace sign. When the necklace arrived, someone in her family noticed that from the side angle, the letter “k” was in the necklace, despite that letter not appearing in the intended message. This discovery led to a night of trying to find more letters and messages in the design. In the end, the Short family found all 26 letters of the English alphabet and the primary numbers 0-9! It was this finding that inspired them to start Zymbol – a company whose flagship design represented all the letters A-Z and whose jewelry could mean anything to anyone since the message possibilities are endless! Offering pendants, bracelets, charms and earrings for women and men, the Zymbol brand is growing as a positive way to share secret messages, or to provide inspiration for someone in a way that is both private and in plain sight!
I received the Zymbol Women’s Small Pewter Pendant to review. This chain on this style necklace is very casual and looks great with jeans and a t-shirt or a plain sweater. If you wanted something dressier, you might opt for one of the sterling silver options. They even have colorful acrylic options for just $16 that would be great for kids!
I absolutely love this necklace and get many compliments on it – and, of course, many people asking what it means. I love being able to tell them that it means whatever the wearer wants it to mean! Each Zymbol comes with a card to share your intended message with the recipient and a chart showing you how all of the letters and numbers show up in the symbol.
If you are looking for a beautiful and unique way to show your love and support for someone, or just a way to share a secret with someone, I recommend Zymbol jewelry. In addition to just being plain cool, they are also a stand up company that donates one Zymbol pendant to The DELL Children’s Hospital in Austin, Texas for each purchase made. These necklaces offer hope and support to children and their families going through indescribable times in their lives. What a beautiful message right there!
