I suddenly realized that the summer is nearly half over and I had not made much in the way of strides to my fitness and weight goals. Between soccer games, vacations, sleepovers and festivals, I had been spending more time eating things that maybe I should eat less of and less time running, biking or even walking around! So I met with a nutritionist who recommended I stick to a meal plan of three meals a day and a snack between each – especially ones that were high in protein to help boost energy levels and decrease hunger/cravings. Being a busy mom on the go, I needed something that could pack a nutritional punch and help me reach my goals – so I reached for one of my favorite nutrition bars, Balance Bar!
What did I think?
Balance Bar nutrition bars are high protein, low glycemic bars that are the perfect on the go snack for me! Balance Bar nutrition bars are now available at Walmart – even more exciting than the ease of picking them up right there is the amazing prices on Balance Bar nutrition bars! I was excited to find Cookie Dough and Peanut Butter available at such incredible prices! While I was there I grabbed up some sunscreen and an iTunes gift card so I could motivate myself to get outside and run!
The Peanut Butter Balance Bar is just 200 calories and contains 15 grams of protein! When I have one of these between breakfast and lunch at work, I am able to avoid the candy jars that lurk on everyone’s desks and stay true to my healthier living plan!
My favorite though, is by far the Cookie Dough Balance Bar! This decadent nutrition bar is more dessert than nutrition bar by flavor, but at just 210 calories, 15 grams of Protein and loads of vitamins and nutrients (100% of Vitamins C and E!) among other great dietary needs – I am in love! This is perfect in the afternoon when I may be feeling a bit of a post-lunch slump – it perks me up and prepares me to finish out the day strong! I have been able to have more energy and more sustained energy for adding in a couple mile jog or walk into my daily routine again!
If you are looking to get back on track – join me and the #BalanceShapeUp challenge by adding a Balance Bar or two to your day for more energy to get in those much needed workouts! You can pick them up at Walmart right now for amazing prices that you will love!
