Ok, this may sound a bit like whining, but: it can be really HARD to eat healthy. And it is even harder to find easy healthy food that actually tastes good. With goal to be healthier in 2015 by eating better, paying attention to what I eat and ultimately, to lose weight. I think I’ve already told you a million times that I typically hate resolutions and instead make goals, but I have to say, I love what Gorton’s and SparkPeople have come up with: Realistic Resolutions! That’s right – they are encouraging people to make realistic goals and make small steps of progress toward bigger end goals so that you feel encouraged and empowered instead of deflated and let down. By doing this, you’re more likely to stay on track! Love, love, LOVE this idea! So in honor of this, these two cool brands send me some goodies to help me reach my 2015 Realistic Resolution.
First up was some incredible, tasty and gluten-free fish. Did I mention that they are super easy to make and low in calories? I started with the Gorton’s Simply Bake Salmon. Usually I hate salmon. I have friends who love this pink fish and sing its health praises but I run far away from it. I have to admit though, the people at Gorton’s have something good going here. I was certain that it was going to be high in calories since it actually tasted good, but each fillet is only 140 calories and is full of protein and other good for you nutrients! I love that they come in self-contained foil bags that you toss in the oven to bake and then soon after you have some tasty fish ready for a meal. Add a salad and you have a filling and healthy meal! Gorton’s offers 11 gluten-free varieties and many are in the 100-150 calorie range! Be sure to print this Gorton’s coupon to save on these healthy meal options!
But I told you that SparkPeople jumped in, too. So now that I am eating healthier and leaner (and with very little fuss in the kitchen!) I ready to get motivated to start a workout plan that will work. I received the SparkPeople book that provides ton of inspiration to get yourself organized and feeling good about YOU so that you can make changes – plus it gives you access to their website with tons of motivation and support. Next I received the SparkPeople cookbook and workout DVD – these two are going to being amazing tools in this journey! The recipes are flavorful and fun and definitely don’t seem restrictive, I am so excited! And the workout DVD has great workouts for all levels that will challenge, but not deter me – just what I need!
And right now, Gorton’s and SparkPeople have teamed up to bring the 30-day Realistic Resolution challenge. Each day for 30 days you will be given a realistic change to make to your life – drink more water, each fish, make freezer meals – all things I want to do anyways, but now I have some online accountability and support! This is a great program to track how you are doing and to get support from others. So I invite you to join me on this health in 2015 journey – it’ll be fun and we may lose some weight along the way! Don’t forget to enter the Gorton’s Eat Smarter Sweepstakes for more fun ways to win! And to keep up with all the healthy products from Gorton’s, remember to follow them on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram
