In less than a month, our family will be leaving the cold of Wisconsin for a family vacation in Mexico to enjoy some much needed sun and surf! With that in mind, I wanted to make sure that our family was covered (literally!) from head to toe. Of course, the first thought when it comes to protecting our children in the sun is sunscreen or sun clothing – but something that many of us forget (myself included!) are their precious eyes! We received two pairs of sunglasses for kids from Real Kids Shades in exchange for my honest opinion.
What did I think of the sunglasses for kids from Real Kids Shades?
It’s funny (in an ironic way, not ha-ha), that I personally wear my sunglasses nearly every day of the week, even in the winter, yet for my kids, I hadn’t put as much thought into that – which blows my mind! I wear sunglasses to protect my eyes from damage, so why not do the same with the girls? I mean, they’ve had sunglasses for kids over the years, but usually they are the accessory ones that do little to offer any real protection. The sunglasses from Real Kids Shades are not just flimsy accessory shades that look pretty (although they do look amazing!). These high-quality sunglasses for kids are made to last and made to really offer incredible protection to little eyes.
These incredible shades include 100% UVA/UVB protection alongside being polarized lenses that will reduce glare and overall stress on the eye! In addition to that, they are also made without BPA or phthalates! Miss Goose noticed right away that these sunglasses were different than any others that she had owned! She told me that she liked that she could still “see the colors of things, but not have to squint from the sun”. What that tells me is that the old sunglasses were simply dark lenses that offered no real protection – these ones, which the lenses are transparent enough that I can actively see her eyes not squinting – are truly protecting and offering relief to eye strain in the sun.
Miss LadyBug went on for a good five minutes in the car about how comfortable these sunglasses are for her! She let me know that she likes that they are flexible (mom likes that too, since she likes to bend things a lot!) and how the arms does curve uncomfortably behind her ear. Featuring polycarbonate lenses that are shatterproof and impact-resistant, I can feel good about the girls being able to have fun and play hard without me worrying about breaking the sunglasses!
If you are looking for sunglasses for kids that can go the distance – and I mean by protection, wearability and durability, look no further than Real Kids Shades. These sunglasses are truly a gem and my girls are in love with their stylish new sunglasses for their looks and comfort while I can feel good that I am doing yet another service for their long-term eye health by protecting their eyes!
