“MOM! We’re bored!” This was the phrase called out to me earlier this week from the bathtub were my two girls (ages 6 and 5) were taking their bath. With what seems like 9 million rubber ducks in the tub with them, I could not imagine how these two munchkins could be bored, but they were convinced of this. Fortunately, I had just received an assortment of bath and pools games, Splash Cards, from Winning Moves in exchange for my honest opinion. I tossed them a pack and the boredom was gone instantly!
What did I think?
Splash Cards are floating cards that can be used in the bath or pool to bring both fun and learning to water time! Available in four varieties right now (Splash Jack Royal, Splash Jack, Splash Pals and Splashnimals), Splash Cards bath and pool games are great for all ages and are easy to use, too!
We started out with the Splashimals cards – in this set, you get 30 washable cards (15 animals) that feature the frontend and backend of an animal. Smaller children can work to recognize the animals or match them when scrambled, while older children can increase the fun (and educational value!) by playing memory games or working on their phonetic sounds. My girls had a blast creating new animals and then imagining what the LiKey or OctoNo would sound like in the wild. I love the imagination play that these cards bring to the table! These cards have a great mesh bag that you can put them after bathtime is over to allow them to dry, as well as for ease of travel! The SplashCards will be significantly easier to travel to hotels with than a bag of bath toys!
The girls are also loving the Splash Pals game. In this unique bath game, kids piece together three cards to create a character (ballerina body with sumo legs and an alien head seems to elicit a lot of laugher!) and then you just let the imagination play run wild. At one point, the girls had an entire storyboard going all on the bathtub wall!
Now, for a pool game that the whole family can get into – check out Splash Jack! In this game, it brings classic Slap Jack to a whole new level as you will be splashing water to claim your cards! We are going on a family trip soon to a hotel that has a pool – I can only imagine the shenanigans and giggles that will follow this game!
Splash Jack Royal is really just a full deck of cards – floating style! Play any game with these cards, from Go Fish with the kiddos to Rummy or something more exciting while you float in the pool. I am still trying to figure out how I can get a game of solitaire going with them in the tub without them moving, but that is still a work in progress – I’m thinking I move around too much at this point!
To add fun and even an educational twist to bath and swimming times, I highly recommend adding Splash Cards from Winning Moves! These fun floating cards make the perfect bath and pool games that everyone will love! Learn more about Winning Moves and all of their amazing board games on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest!
