A fateful trip to Sweden led Kristian Regále founder to the delicious tastes of sparkling apple drinks that forever changed the course of her life. Following multiple trips between the US and Sweden, the Kristian Regále brand was born and now includes eight sparkling and delicious apple based juices. I was fortunate enough to receive two bottles of sparkling juice to review and create delicious recipes!
What did I think?
I received the Pomegranate-Apple and the Ligonberry-Apple flavors to try out. I am so excited to tell you about both of these flavors, but I will keep you waiting on the Ligonberry-Apple as that will come up in a few weeks and include a giveaway, too!
What I can tell you is that both juices are flavorful, sweet (without being sugary) and delicious. I am comfortable sharing this juice with my girls and they love it! We have never allowed either of them to have any soda, so for them, having this sparkling juice seems like a special treat since it is bubbly. But anyone can just drink juice, how about cooking with it? I decided to make a Chipotle Pork Stew with the Pomegranate-Apple juice and I am certainly glad I did! This stew is flavorful, homey and filling. This is a fantastic cool evening stew – which oddly, we have had here in Wisconsin during July this year!
Slow Cooker Chipotle Pork Stew
What do I need?
3-4 lb boneless pork roast
1 Cup Kristian Regále Pomegranate-Apple Sparkling Juice
2 Chipotle Peppers in Adobo, chopped finely
3 cloves garlic, minced
¼ teaspoon salt
1 large Vidalia onion, sliced into 1” slices
1 large green pepper, diced into 1” long pieces
1 large yellow pepper, diced into 1” long pieces
1 4-oz can of diced tomatoes
What do I do now?
In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the juice, chipotles, garlic and salt. Next mix in the tomatoes. Place the pork roast into your slow cooker and slowly pour the mixture over top. Next throw in the onions and peppers. Put your lid on and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3-4.
When the meat is thoroughly cooked through, shred into medium chunks with two forks and stir well. This is best served over white rice as a sort of rice stew.
I am loving my Kristian Regále sparkling juices and cannot wait to share my dessert recipe with you in a few weeks! Remember, there will also be a giveaway – so get a head start and love on the Kristian Regále Facebook and Twitter pages!
