Kicking off Celiac Awareness Month, I am excited to bring you the first of many gluten-free reviews!
With our youngest daughter recently needing to switch over to all gluten-free products, I am learning a new way to cook and to shop. I did not realize just how many things gluten was in (soy sauce, really??)! A couple of weeks ago I went to the Gluten and Allergen-Free Expo in Illinois and found a ton of new options for her to eat. However, that is not an option for everyone, as these conferences only happen a few times a year and in specific locations that not everyone has access. Gfreely.com brings companies that show at these expos (plus more!) to your house every month! These boxes are filled with gluten-free foods, snacks and recipes. The cool people at Gfreely sent me the April box to review and I am excited to share with you what I found!
What did I think?
First, I love getting packages in the mail – especially something that is full of surprises that will be good for my family and safe, too! I opened my box to find terrific, gluten-free products. The most exciting to me was the GalloLea Gluten-free Pizza Kit. This easy to use pizza kit comes with everything you need to make a crust and sauce – just add your toppings and you are ready to go! There were also a bunch of easy to grab, snack sized packs of things like Kathie’s Kitchen Super Seeds, Justin’s All Natural Peanut candy bar and Popcorners caramel corn chips! I love that I can just reach into the box and grab something that Miss Ladybug can eat safely as a snack wherever we may be! I also thought it was great that the box came with a recipe for an easy to make, healthy and delicious gluten-free tropical trail mix! YUM!
I loved that I “met” some new companies through the Gfreely box that I will be searching for at the store on my next trip. Fortunately this box did not have any things for me to stay away from, but I suppose that would be nice too, if we tried a snack size of something that she did not like, versus me buying a whole box only to find out that it is terrible. The Gfreely boxes can be as low as $19 per month if you sign up for a 6 month subscription right away. The boxes vary in value each month, but should fall within the $25-$40 value range, making the $19 per month option the most valuable for your money. Should you just want to try one box, you would be paying $20 for the box and $5 for shipping, so definitely think through what is right for you and your family.
Check back later this week for a chance to win a Gfreely box and a $5.00 off coupon code!
