Each day for school during the school year and now for day camp for the summer, the girls take a bag lunch and a healthy snack. Snack is almost always some sort of fruit cut up into bite sized pieces that are easy for the girls to handle and readily snacked upon. More than once I have had a parent ask how I have the time to slice and dice their fruits and veggies into snackable portions – now, I could hide behind a false supermom cape and claim that I wake at 2 AM and after a rousing hour of yoga I pick the fruit fresh from the vine and painstakingly cut each piece into fun, uniform shapes. And while in my daydream, that is what is happening, in the real world – I am glad that our organic CSA of the week had melon in it and bust out one of my FunBites food cutters to do the dirty work for me! And actually, for the last couple of months, the girls have been using the FunBites to do it themselves! We received a new FunBites food cutter in their new fun packaging in exchange for my honest opinion.
What did I think?
The FunBites food cutters are a great way to speed up meal time when you have kids that require their food to be cut into small pieces. This new square design is hands down my favorite cutter! Pancakes, waffles, pizza, fruit and pretty much anything else and the girls are cutting their own food now! I can actually eat my food when it is hot and the girls feel a sense of pride and independence from cutting their own food. And not only that, but they are eating more since the food is in a size and shape that they find pleasing!
FunBites food cutters come in three different and fun shape assortments that encourage food interaction and promote independence! And now they are available in six colors and the fun packaging that give personalities to these food cutters engage and delight children!
If you are looking to get your kiddos to be more independent at meal time, eat more and have fun while eating (you might actually encourage to play with their food this way!) – you need to run and scoop up FunBites!
