With Easter fast approaching, I was not sure what I would do for the girls’ baskets this year in the way of sweet treats.  We have to avoid gluten with Miss LadyBug’s allergy and sensitivity, but we also choose to avoid artificial food dyes, artificial flavors, and really, anything that we cannot pronounce or know where it came from ingredient-wise, which greatly limits our candy eating range.  Fortunately for my girls, YumEarth has a line of organic and natural candy and treats that are free from the ingredients we hate most!  I received an assortment of tasty, natural candy treats in exchange for my honest opinion.

What did I think?

My girls were really excited to see the YumEarth Organic Pops in the box!  You might remember my Valentine’s post featuring the organic lollipops and what a hit they were back then!  They were especially timely since each pop has 100% of your Daily Value of Vitamin C; with our weather changes recently, anything we can do to give our immune systems a little boost, I would like to do!

Next out of the box were the organic gummy bears and these were met with squeals of joy (oh and my kids were excited, too)!  We have found that many gelatin-based treats out there have a wheat stabilizer in them, so Miss LadyBug (and me!) have been missing fun treats like gummy bears due to this risk.  We were so happy to see that these organic gummy bears are not only free of artificial ingredients, but also gluten-free, peanut-free, soy-free, nut-free and dairy-free, too!  We loved having an organic and natural candy that is safe to eat and share with friends!  These gummy bears are lightly sweet, perfectly chewy and oh so delicious!  With just 59 calories in a pack and no fat, you can feel good about them, too!

While we always love our YumEarth lollipops and the gummy bears are fast moving up the list of tasty, the next out of the box delighted them in a way I could not believe.  The YumEarth Sour Beans are a natural candy jellybean with a sour coating sure to make your mouth pucker!  The girls have been asking us about jellybeans for some time, especially as we approach Easter.  The problem being, in our experience, many commercial jellybeans have high fructose corn syrup, or questionable gluten-free practices.  The Sour Beans natural candy from YumEarth are sweetly sour and perfect!  They get your saliva glands going (you know what I am talking about on the sides of your mouth!) and simply taste great.  I like that they are not crazy neon colors, really hitting home the fact that there is not artifice going on with this natural candy – just simple ingredients put together in a delicious way, using sustainable practices!
