Rumor is, spring is supposed to be here this week. I think Mother Nature forgot about Wisconsin as we are still experiencing frigid temperatures and snow. But as with every winter, I try not to let it get me down too much and look to the future. And this year, our spring and summer will be full of fun! We received a Swing & Spin tire swing to add to our backyard and my girls are beside themselves! While we have not had a chance to hang the Swing & Spin up and get full use yet, I can tell you that this swing is going to get a lot of love and use!
When I was a kid, we had a tire swing – in fact, it was an old tire that my mom had found somewhere, drilled in some holes and hung from our weeping willow tree. While I liked the tire swing for the fun factor – there was a lot not to love. It was dirty, when it rained, it filled with water that was impossible to drain (hello mosquitoes!), it was uncomfortable and you were lucky if you could fit two people on it at a time. Nowadays, you can find tire swings that are made from plastic and we have friends who have purchased these models. Minus the “side of the road” dirt from my homemade tire swing – it is much the same. Fills with water that gets disgusting, is uncomfortable (is hard plastic ever that comfy to sit on?) and after awhile of hanging out in the sun, you realize that they are not as well protected as you may have initially thought.
The Swing & Spin tire swing has everything you want in a tire swing – and more! They are durable – built to withstand 600 pounds! That means you can pile on the family members and have a ton of fun! They are spacious – allowing your kiddos and their friends to play together – or maybe you and the sig other can have a touch of snuggle time on the swing for a fun “home date” after the kiddos head to bed!
The tire swing itself is made with UV-resistant materials ensuring a high-quality swing that will not fall apart from sun exposure. The ropes are also weather treated, meaning it is comfortable to hold on to and you do not have to do anything to maintain the quality.
My favorite feature of the Swing & Spin tire swing is the webbed seat design. Instead of having to worry that our skinny-tushed, Miss LadyBug, will fall through – we can rest easy knowing that she will be able to swing and play in comfort, safely!
We pulled the Swing & Spin out of the box just to tease ourselves a bit and hubby was realized to see how easy it looks to hang up from either our tree or our existing swing set.
