Book Review: Wanted: Vampire (Bad Blood)

In the next installment of the paranormal romance, Wanted: Vampire series, author Lisa Rayns keeps up the momentum that she had built up in Wanted: Vampire (Free Blood).  (Catch up on the series with my review of the first book and then come on back!)  If you are one that hates spoilers – stop reading now and come back after you have read these books!  Ms. Rayns was so kind to give me yet another of her books to review for all of you and I am glad, so I could continue following along with Alexis and her friends.

What did I think?

I was surprised at first – this book does not take place following Alexis.  She is certainly there, but now the focus has shifted to her best friend and witch (no really, she is a witch, with a wand – this is not commentary on her attitude!), Tara Callister.  Tara is doing what she can to help Alexis with her new life as a vampire, while also trying to come up with a way to deal with the diabolical Misters who turned her vampire boyfriend into a wolf-dog.  Without the support of her coven, Tara is able to do some powerful magic, but not before the Misters turn the magical tables on her and land Tara in what could be hot water with her hunky back to being dead boyfriend, Joel.  Early on we find out that Tara is pregnant and due to having shared blood with Alexis – they are unsure about the powers the baby seems to be exhibiting.  If you want to find out more, be sure to check out Wanted: Vampire – Bad Blood, you won’t be disappointed!

The Verdict

This was a strong second book in the series.  I liked the change of perspective and there were a few twists that I did not see coming in regards to Malik and Joel.  I am hoping there will be more books to come in this series and am looking forward to seeing both Tara and Bradley’s decisions in regards to making the change.
