Years ago when we made the conscious decision to live cleaner, greener lives, one of the first (and easiest!) changes we made was the move from plastic water bottles to glass water bottles. By switching out the landfill filling plastic bottles we not only were making less waste, but we were spending less – one small investment in glass water bottles over the long term is a great investment! And now there are some great options out there for glass water bottles – my new favorite glass water bottle comes from Faucet Face – a fun company that creates glass water bottles with a funky artistic side that will make you smile! I received three glass water bottles in exchange for my honest opinion.
What did I think?
Before investing in some plain glass water bottles, hubby and I would simply reuse glass bottles from juice brands or others that we had already consumed. Definitely green, but also chock-full of rhetoric. Did I really want people to think I was heavily into a particular brand or loved that product so much that I would continue to carry that around. Now, that may be thinking too deeply, but I did find people asking me about it, so I made the change to one that promoted brands less and would just be fun to have! The Faucet Face glass bottles are perfect because they hold a little more than 14 ounces of liquid and they have a BPA-free screw cap (not something that I have found with a lot of others!).
These glass water bottles are beautifully designed and right now, there are three designs to choose from. My personal favorite is the Hummingbird Feeder glass – it is whimsical and a wonderful conversation starter. Not only can I tell them about where I found these cool glass bottles, but I can also start the conversation about how plastic bottles in the landfill impact our wildlife friends and what we can do to save them.
The glass water bottles from Faucet Face are sturdy – and I can attest to this as I took one to work and accidentally knocked it off of my desk. The bottle hit the floor as I looked on in office horror waiting for the shatter and splatter – but was pleasantly surprised when it did a sort of bounce roll. I’m not sure how many more times it could survive this type of fall or how much higher than standard desk height – but it survived it when it mattered most!
Look into reducing your waste and improve the taste of your beverages by investing in some glass water bottles from Faucet Face! We hear it all the time about how drinks taste better in glass and that can be attributed to the sheer safety of glass over plastics that can leech chemicals into your tasty beverage. So not only will the world be cleaner and safer, but your body will be, too!
